enhancing a barn conversion

The  design is fantastic, there was a huge amount of work involved in the changes but we were always kept involved and updated on progress.  Our bedroom is amazing we now make the most of the views and I now have more wardrobe space than I have clothes, a great excuse to go buy some more! We were so impressed with id’s professionalism and creativity that we also
briefed them to redesign our en-suite. -

Brief

Our client wanted to make better use of space on the first floor of the property, adding an additional bedroom and more storage. They also wanted to make more of the wonderful views that it offered. Being unsure how long they were going to be at the property, they wanted a neutral colour scheme that would appeal to a broad range of potential buyers, and furniture that would stand the test of time if they decided to move.

Solution

We worked with the clients’ architect and structural engineers to create a plan, and employed our own building team to complete the project. Our design involved dividing the landing space in half via a curved wall. It introduced a bespoke stairway up to a newly converted loft and landing, with additional storage space in the eaves, leading through to a new bedroom. The sleeping area of the main bedroom was moved into the newly created space, and a dressing room with further storage, was created from the old bedroom.

The scheme was kept neutral with colour added through the soft furnishings to fit in with the rustic feel of the location and property. Solid oak furniture was chosen and complemented by bespoke wardrobes, doors and natural flooring.
